It is not necessary to own a pet or to have your own photographs in order to commission a portrait.
I accept commissions for all pets, horses and animals - wild or domesticated.Framing is now available for all artwork.
It may be possible to produce a picture from the poorest image sent over the internet, but the best portraits are created from a good selection of actual photographs or high resolution digital images. I should like to borrow as many as possible for reference with at least one showing the eyes (most important) but I do not need professional-quality shots. All photos are returned.
Please indicate which, in your opinion, best represents both coat and eye colour as I shall set my palette to these. I shall always create the most dynamic portrait possible by correcting ear positioning and laying manes and coats to the best advantage but let me know if you have a favourite pose as I shall do my best to incorporate it.
Include the name of the animal if you would like it added next to my signature and your personal details for my records.
On completion, an unprotected image of the artwork will be available for you approval. If you are completely satisfied, the portrait will be posted on receipt of payment.
As most portraits are surprise gifts it may be worth considering where you will eventually like the artwork to be sent, as the contents of the portfolio will be obvious to the receiver.
The following pages may also be of help.Completion times are estimated from receipt of the photographs and confirmation of the commission in writing.
